Eastern CT Green Action
Enable Shared Solar
Connecticut is taking baby steps on promoting renewable energy. A bill that would have allowed shared renewable energy projects was stalled in the General Assembly in 2015. The Connecticut Green Bank that was started to promote renewable energy is also financing the expansion of natural gas for heating. Connecticut has a cap on the amount of virtual net metering that can be used which limits the construction of solar farms. We have been promoting renewable energy since May 2015 and are in the process of producing a petition and fact sheet for towns to pass a resolution asking their state legislators to sponsor and endorse bills that will increase the amount of renewable energy.
